Golf Channel Selects Grayhawk to Host Am Tour Championships

The 2014 Golf Channel Am Tour National Championships are to be held at Grayhawk Golf Club and Talking Stick Resort, according to a recent announcement. This is the first time that the final tournament of the Golf Channel Am Tour, the world’s largest amateur golf event, will be held in Scottsdale.

grayhawk golf clubDuring the Golf Channel Am Tour Championships, golfers of all ages compete against hundreds of their peers in four rounds of golf, each played on a different course. The courses featured in this year’s Am Tour Championship event are Grayhawk’s Talon and Raptor and Talking Stick’s North and South golf courses.

The tournament will be broken up into two categories. The traditional National Championship will be held September 8-12 for participants below 50 years of age. The Senior National Championship will follow from September 14-18 and include players 50 years of age and up. Each Championship begins with a Welcome Dinner and ends with an Awards Ceremony to celebrate the winners. Golfers competing in the Golf Channel Am Tour Championships will also be able to retire to the world class luxury of the Talking Stick Resort after each day of play.

Arizona Mortgage Delinquencies Drop

Arizona’s delinquency rates have fallen from 6.1 percent to 3.6 percent from the second quarter of last year until now. This puts Arizona’s home loan delinquency rate a half point below the nation’s average of 4.1 percent.

This marks the third consecutive quarter that the nation has decreased delinquencies considerably.

According to TransUnion the nation’s delinquency rate could go below four percent this quarter. That would be the lowest rate since 2008.

It’s no secret that the housing market has bounced back in a big way over the past year, and Arizona residents are leading the charge. There’s no better time to check out homes in the pristine community of Grayhawk Scottsdale.

Play The Raptor for Only $25 this Weekend

Grayhawk ClubOne of Grayhawk Scottsdale’s golf courses, The Raptor, is offering a $25 tee off deal for Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28. The beautifully manicured greens are recovering well from aerification, but the course may be slightly rough and sanded. The Raptor will be open from 6:30-9:57a.m. each day this weekend. Make sure to book your tee time, which can be done up to three days in advance.

And the good news just keeps on coming – The Talon course is extending its $30 deal from Thursday, July 25 to Sunday, July 28. The Talon will close for aerification on the 29th so book your tee time as soon as possible.

TopGolf to Open in Scottsdale Spring 2014

Largest Mortgage Rate Jump in 26 Years

Grayhawk ScottsdaleGrayhawk Scottsdale is a competitive market and very little can get in the way of a homebuyer and their dream home. Not even a jump in mortgage rates. A recent jump in mortgage rates comes after news that the Federal Reserve might reduce its stimulus package resulting in the largest week over week increase since 1987.

Up 3.93 percent since the week of June 27th, rates on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage increased from 0.8 to 4.46 – a clear result of the recent news regarding the stimulus program. The rates are up 3.66 percent from last year.

While the jump in mortgage rates may slow down some of the real estate activity, home sales should stay strong due to affordable home prices. This is an especially strong prediction since the pace of home sales in May 2013 were at its strongest since fall of 2009. Potential Grayhawk Scottsdale homebuyers are not scared away by the jump in mortgage rates because deals in Grayhawk are too good to pass up.
