A full air-conditioned theme park, ice cream village, BMX and skateboard show and live musical entertainment are just some of the things family members of all ages can enjoy at this spectacular summer event. Buy tickets at the door for $15 or in advance for $10. Children under 6 receive free admission.

Fourth of July Freedom Fest – Held at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, this event is exclusive for resort guests and those dining at La Hacienda, Ironwood American Kitchen or Bourbon Steak. For those planning a staycation at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, there will be a two-day celebration with a concert, air show, fireworks display and more.

WET Pool Party – W Scottsdale will be opening the WET pool deck to the public for their Independence Day pool party. Starting at 11 a.m., this wild celebration will last all day and through the night with live music, cocktails, games and fireworks. This event is for ages 21 and up. Non-guests can purchase tickets for $20.

Easter is just around the corner, and Grayhawk likes to celebrate with a feast! All are invited to the annual Easter Sunday Brunch Buffet at Grayhawk Golf Club, held on April 20th at 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Space is limited so make your reservations today!

The menu will include a salad station, soup station, carving station and more. For those who prefer a breakfast selection, there will be eggs and waffles available, as well as an assortment of fruits, pastries, and other desserts. You may also opt for smoked salmon, oysters, trout or pepper haddock with assorted mini bagels. Let’s not forget the champagne!

Reservations for this event costs $58.95 plus tax. Children ages 6-12 cost $26.95 plus tax, and children under 6 are free.

Join the Grayhawk Hiking Club on the Seven Springs Loop

Looking to embark on a long day hike before the weather heats up? Join the Grayhawk Hiking Club on Saturday, March 29th for one of their all-time favorites, the Seven Springs Loop! This 10-mile loop through thegrayhawk hiking club Tonto National Forest, just north of Carefree, is a real treat for seasoned hikers. The difficulty is moderate to strenuous, with an elevation gain of 1,000 feet. There are plenty of rolling hills as well, adding substantially to the accumulated gain.

This hike boasts spectacular views and plenty of variety, with both narrow and wide trails, shaded areas, wide open meadows, rugged boulders, and several water crossings.

Registration for the Seven Springs Loop hike is required on the Meetup site. Participants must join the group and RSVP for the hike. Each member is allowed a maximum of 2 guests. This is a day hike with an expected completion time of 5-6 hours, so make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks and good hiking shoes. Hiking poles are also recommended. If you are interested in carpooling to the trailhead, the group will be meeting at Fry’s on Hayden Road and Thompson Peak Parkway at 7 a.m.

Workshops for Youth Comes to Grayhawk

Scottsdale-based non-profit Workshops for Youth and Families will be coming to Grayhawk for a special 4-hour workshop called “Friendwise.” Designed for preteens ages 9-12, this interactive program will teach participants essential skills in building strong social relationships.

grayhawk homes for saleThe goal of the workshop is to help young people become their best self by teaching them the skills they may not learn in school – leadership and communication. Through a variety of activities, games and other fun learning tools, kids and teens are able to develop self-confidence, respect, resiliency and many other traits that will benefit them for a lifetime.

The workshop is hosted by Frances Mills-Yerger, Ph.D., otherwise known as Dr. Franny, along with a number of volunteer peer leaders. These peer leaders are mostly workshop alumni who have benefitted greatly from the program and wish to help other teens their age learn and grow.

This is a wonderful opportunity for Grayhawk families. Many Scottsdale teens and preteens who have attended the Workshops for Youth and Families programs have seen positive changes in their relationships with their parents and friends, as well as in many other aspects of their lives.

The “Friendwise” workshop will be held on Sunday, February 16th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Talon Room of the Offices at Grayhawk building. Cost for registration is $35 per participant. Space is limited, so please register ahead of time.
